A conversation with my 4 year old son.

He quotes a song from the Bare Naked Ladies album "Snacktime" by saying "give me some spinny rides and a plate of salmon and I am a happy man". There is no conversation after that, it is only laughing.

A hopeful conversation with my 18 year old daughter.

If you are reading this blog, don't be stingy, send me some dang photos. How long have I been asking you? At least 10 times since September 10. I would like to put some photos of you on this blog so can you help me out?

A conversation with my 5 year old daughter.

I brought my Christmas music into the van today. I miss it all year round so I start early. I had Sarah McLaughan's album "Wintersong" in the player as we drove to Red Robin for dinner. One of my fav's "Noel" was playing and I turned it real loud - she sings it in such a powerful way. Goldie was upset with Jude because he was howling like a dog. I got upset too so he agreed to be quiet until the song was over. We pulled into Red Robin and I turned the van off. I opened the door to get the kids out and Goldie had been crying. I said "why are you crying?" she said "that was a beautiful song and I really liked it". I said "how did the song make you feel?" She said as she wiped away her tears "I feel happy inside and proud of Jesus".

That was one of the happiest moments of my life.

If I ever aspire to be anything...let it be a mother who teaches her children of God's love and his son, Jesus Christ.

Amen

The Love Revolution

Lenny Kravitz on his Love Revolution tour decided to stop in Kelowna. I loved the concert - he has so much soul. I had to buy one of his t-shirts. What a treat.

Me and my hubby sharing some love.

Halloween

Hannah Montana had a date with Darth Vader.

The pumpkins they carved. Wondering why they are laughing to hard? Daddy is pretending to fart on my head while I take the picture. Good grief.

Gals Getaway

Me and some of my gal pals entering West Edmonton Mall.

Can't leave without goin on the coaster.

Madonna

It was really neat to see Madonna - I was a big fan in my younger years.

Jumpin at Madonna with good friends and a great hubby.

The Men in my Life

I bought Jude a shirt and tie. He wants to wear them at least once or twice a week. We have to call him one of two things - "office boy" or "Wade".

It is true - she is growing up too fast

Madame Hemmingway and her Kindergarten Class. Adorable.

Helping Hands

I volunteered at my church to help the planning committee for a Woman's Retreat. I volunteered at the church kiosk to hand out brochures and brought Goldie along. She told me that we were going to need a lot of pens because we were going to have a lot of customers. She is great.

King Harold the Pumpkin

Goldie and I spent an afternoon at Michael's craft store creating Harold. She entered him in a contest but was not the winner. Notice the gold tooth.

My 10th Wedding Anniversary

My 10 year wedding anniversary was on Friday, October 3. I took Wade to Penticton to stay at the Ramada which is the same hotel where we had our reception 10 years ago. I secretly arranged for some of our bridal party to meet us at a restaurant for dinner. The evening was fabulous. We were like two little kids, giggling and chatting and laughing. It was so much fun. Wade was totally surprised, and touched, by the whole evening.

Two groomsman and two bridesmaids met us for dinner. Christian and Dan, Lori and Danielle (and some spouses). We had such a good time. Lots of laughs and memories.

Me and Lori and Danielle. It was great to reconnect with them.

Wade and Dan. Oops didn't get Christian in the picture.

I am so grateful, and extremely blessed, for Jan and Keith Elliott. They took care of Goldie and Jude for the weekend and when we came home, my home was spic and span. Jan looked a little pooped and I felt bad but she had given me such an awesome anniversary present.

Happy 18th Birthday Leah

This is a small clip of us singing Happy Birthday to Leah who turned 18 today. Who would have thought that she would be celebrating her 18th birthday in Ambato, Ecuador. I hope they know how to give the "bumps" down there. I cooked a really yummy supper and then we ate a bevy of pastries that I bought at specialty bakery. We lit one candle which the kids blew out together. We tried hard to celebrate but it was a bit strange. The pastries were great. We love Leah so much and miss her tremendously but she is doing fabulous.

High School Musical

Goldie was invited to a birthday party that had a High School Musical theme. She decided to have some fun and wear her dance costume. She was very excited to go.

Goldie's music lessons

This is a small clip from Goldie's music class. She attends music on Monday afternoons and alternates every 2 weeks with an art lesson. She loves music and especially Jan Harvey. Goldie pays very close attention and does very well with the exercises. I am still trying to figure out what kind of music talent each Goldie and Jude have in their blood. Parents get to go into music the last 5 minutes of class - it is a real treat - I love it and we are all making new friends there.

Music lessons

This is Jude's music class. He attends every Tuesday morning for 45 minutes. He loves music and especially Jan Harvey.

This is a small clip of Jude during one of his music lessons. He is standing beside Luke who is his favorite friend in music. Jude's favorite band at the moment is U2. I am thinking of getting him a play guitar but we don't have a basement so what does this mean for me? Shall I listen to some good worship songs on my IPOD while Jude is discovering his music talent?

Gymnastics

This is a picture of Jude and Goldie with Jude's gymnastics coach. At first, Jude was not excited about gymnastics but the more he goes the more he likes it. On this particular day, he received a stamp on each hand because he worked so hard during his lesson. Jude is an excellent listener and does exactly what his coach tells him to. It is lovely to watch.

Art Lessons for Goldie

Goldie's music teacher has a daughter who teaches art classes in the same building and at the same time. Fortunately, Goldie is able to alternate one week music with teacher Jan and one week art with teacher Natasha. Goldie loves it. More art work will be posted in the future. She is displaying her art box which she decorated to hold all of her future pieces.
